Controller calibration
Setting the centre and the range of the sticks on DualShock 4, DualSense, DualSense Edge and PS VR2 Sense — straight from the browser, over a USB cable. It is done most often after the analog sticks have been replaced, so that the new ones work accurately.
Calibration does not cure drift. Drift comes from worn mechanical parts inside the stick and only goes away with a replacement. Calibrating a stick that is still worn may help for a short while, but it can just as easily make things worse — with no way back.
✅ When it makes sense
- After the analog sticks have been replaced — new ones almost always need centring and a range to be set.
- A shifted centre on a mechanically sound stick — after taking the controller apart or dropping it, for example.
- The range falls short in some directions because the factory calibration has shifted.
⛔ When not to do it
- With drift from a worn stick — replace the stick first, calibrate afterwards.
- On a flat battery — if the battery dies while the data is being written, the controller is damaged beyond repair.
- Over Bluetooth — cable only, so the connection cannot drop.

What you need
⏳
Checking your browser…
Calibration uses WebHID — it only works in Chrome, Edge or Opera on a computer.
🔌
A USB cable
A cable is mandatory. Over Bluetooth the write can be cut short.
🔋
A charged battery in the controller
The battery has to be inside and charged. If it dies while the data is being written, the controller is damaged beyond repair.
🎮
A supported controller
DualShock 4, DualSense, DualSense Edge and PS VR2 Sense. Xbox and Nintendo controllers are not calibrated this way.
The order of things
How it is done
-
Run the test firstRun the controller test. If it shows drift at rest, the stick is worn — calibration will not help, it needs replacing.
-
Connect the controller with a cableTurn off the Bluetooth connection if it was active, and plug the cable straight into the computer.
-
Press “Connect” in the tool belowThe browser will show a list of devices — pick the controller and confirm. If the list is empty, check the cable.
-
Do the temporary calibration firstThe tool offers a temporary and a permanent calibration. The temporary one writes nothing into the controller — use it to check that everything goes as it should.
-
Only then the permanent oneThe permanent calibration is written into the controller and stays there after a power-off. Do not touch the cable while it runs.
-
Check the resultRun the test again — the centre has to sit at zero, and the range has to reach the edge in every direction.
The tool
Stick calibration
Calibration cannot run on this device.
It needs a computer with Chrome, Edge or Opera — phones and tablets do not support WebHID, and neither do Firefox and Safari.
The controller test, however, works everywhere: open the test.
The tool runs in English. Use the buttons above if you would rather have it in Bulgarian.
About the tool
The calibration is carried out by DualShock Calibration GUI (version 2.34) — an open-source project under the MIT licence,
developed by the community around dualshock-tools.
A copy of it is hosted on our own server, so that it follows the design of this site and carries no external tracking; the code itself has not been modified.
The Bulgarian translation is the work of Tamir-Teknik, a volunteer on the project, completed by us.
The project is not affiliated with Sony, PlayStation or Ekspert BG, and it is used at your own risk.
If you found it useful, the authors accept support through the project's own page.
Is the stick worn out?
Analog stick replacement at Ekspert BG
Calibration does not help against drift — the stick has to be replaced. We replace analog sticks, buttons, triggers, batteries and USB ports, and calibrate the controller afterwards.
