Clean your phone speaker with sound
Water in the speaker after rain or a shower? Quiet, muffled sound from dust? Our free speaker cleaner ejects water and dust from your phone speaker in about 2 minutes — right in your browser, no install needed.
It's easy
How to use it
Prepare your phone
Take it out of the case and turn the volume up to maximum. On iPhone, switch off silent mode using the side switch.
Start the cleaning
Press "Clean now", pick a level and start. Hold the phone with the speaker facing down so the water can escape freely.
Repeat if needed
Wipe off the ejected water and test the sound. Still quiet? Run a stronger level. Up to 3–4 cycles are completely safe.
Three cleaning levels
Pick one based on the build-up
Basic
2 min · 30–340 Hz
A smooth low-frequency sweep that pushes out water droplets and light dust. Perfect after rain, a shower or a sweaty pocket.
Strong
3 min · pulses + sweeps
Alternates vibrating pulses at 165 Hz (the frequency the Apple Watch uses) with fast 60–500 Hz sweeps. For stubborn water and dust.
Extreme deep clean
5 min · 40–800 Hz
The deepest clean: powerful pulses and sweeps in both directions, plus phone vibration (Android). For old, built-up dust.
Why does sound clean the speaker?
A speaker is a membrane that moves back and forth to create sound. At low frequencies (30–340 Hz) the movement has the largest amplitude — the membrane literally shakes the water and dust out through the grille.
This is exactly the method the Apple Watch uses with its built-in water eject feature — a series of low-frequency tones around 165 Hz.
When it helps
- Water in the speaker after rain, a shower or the pool
- Muffled, "distant" sound caused by dust in the grille
- Crackling at low frequencies after water exposure
- As prevention — once a month for clear sound
When sound is not enough
If the sound stays quiet, crackling or missing after several cycles, the problem runs deeper — corrosion after water damage, deeply packed dust or a worn-out membrane. That's where we come in:
- Speaker or microphone replacement — usually the same day
- Water damage repair — with ultrasonic cleaning of the components
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How does sound clean the phone speaker?
Low frequencies (30–340 Hz) make the speaker membrane vibrate with large amplitude. These vibrations mechanically push water droplets and dust particles out through the speaker grille. The Apple Watch uses the same principle with its water eject feature.
Is it safe for my phone?
Yes. The sound stays within the frequency range the speaker is designed for and cannot damage it. We recommend up to 3–4 consecutive cycles — that is more than enough in most cases.
What should I do before cleaning?
Take the phone out of its case, turn the volume up to maximum and point the speaker downwards so the water can escape freely. On iPhone, switch off silent mode using the side switch.
Does it help with water in the speaker?
Yes — that is the most common use. It works best right after the phone gets wet. If the phone was seriously soaked (dropped in water), sound alone is not enough — see our water damage repair page.
I ran the cleaning several times but the sound is still muffled. What now?
If the sound is still quiet or crackling after 3–4 cycles, the speaker is most likely deeply clogged or worn out. At our shop we clean speakers ultrasonically or replace them with a new one — usually the same day.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The tool runs directly in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer — no install, no registration, completely free.
I press start but hear nothing. What should I check?
First: turn up the media volume (the volume buttons while the tool is running). On iPhone, switch off silent mode using the side switch. Check whether the sound is going to connected Bluetooth headphones. If that does not help, your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Safari) may be blocking audio for the site — tap the icon left of the address and allow sound in the site settings.
